I owned a V330 before this phone with T-Mobile as my carrier and have found that after using this phone that I am going to switch back to it due to the following:
1) Need to move the location of the PTT button. Every time I picked up the phone, I accidentally pushed the PTT button, it would ask if I wanted to use the feature and that it would cost because I wasn't signed up for it. This meant I had to open the phone to turn off the PTT which was very annoying....
2) The outside display is too small and basically useless. I depend on the outside display on a clam shell type phone a lot as it is sometimes not feasible to open up the phone (like when in a meeting). I like to be able to see how much battery life I have left, if I have a message, signal strength, etc. On the Sony Ericsson, you need a magnifying glass to read anything on it.
3) Display turns off too quickly. I couldn't find anything in the instruction manual that would lengthen the amount of time the display was visible on the inside display. So I constantly had to push the button to keep the display on if I was playing a game or trying to look for a phone number in the phone book.
4) Sound clarity is lacking. I was using the phone while outside at work and found that the clarity of the call was full of static. I had to keep asking the person to repeat their conversation which was frustrating. I didn't seem to have this problem when using the V330.
5) Some controls in sub-directories of phone - not convenient. I found that if I wanted to turn on the vibrating feature, I had to go to the menu and then to profile and then tab over to call features to change to the vibrating feature or volume of the ringer. The V330 had the buttons on the outside of the phone that you can do this with.
The only good thing about this phone was I like the jungle ringer sound that came with the phone. It made me laugh the first time I heard it and I figure if I want that type of ring tone, I can just go onto the web and search for it as I am sure someone has it available to purchase and download.
So basically I am returning the phone back to Cingular and going back to my V330 and T-Mobile until either T-Mobile comes out with more phones or I find a phone that I like with another carrier.
