SAGEM myX-5 is a dual band mobile phone with the usual candy bar shaped design. This model contains several features that users will find helpful, including its integrated GPRS and WAP technology, MMS multimedia messaging capability, a speakerphone for hands-free conversations, and realistic hi-fi ringtones.
The myX-5 has a colour display that can reproduce up to 256 different colours, and the screen is capable of displaying images with a resolution of 101 x 80 pixels. With this display you are able to view the icon and menu based navigation system that the phone uses, and to look at any pictures that can be handled by the phone's MMS enabled messaging, which allows you to send and receive messages containing a combination of text, pictures, animations and sounds.
There are a number of possibilities for personalising the SAGEM MyX-5 phone, by choosing from the selection of animated screensavers, wallpapers, icons and hi-fi ringtones that are supplied, but more of these items can be downloaded when you want to try something new. There is also a range of interchangeable front and back covers available for those who want to give their phone a bigger makeover in appearance.
Three games come embedded in the SAGEM MyX-5, although more games are available for download from the In-Fusio? games catalogue when you want to install new games. The applications supplied with the phone are a calculator, currency converter, alarm and timer.
The SAGEM MyX-5 has integrated GPRS and WAP technology, which provides you with an "always on" connection and the ability to gain faster access to the mobile Internet and other network services. The WAP sites available to the mobile phone user now provide a good range of information and other essential services. It is also possible to download sounds and images from these WAP sites and to use them in the phone.
The SAGEM MyX-5 has a choice of connectivity options: you can link up wirelessly to a compatible computer or PDA via the phone's infrared port, or you can use a serial or USB data cable for the standard wired connection. Having made a connection to a PC, PDA or other compatible device it is then possible to synchronise your personal files and data, such as information that is in your phonebook or schedule, and to exchange pictures and sounds between the devices.
