AsusTek has unveiled a quad-band GSM/GPRS phone claimed to keep users connected anywhere in the world with "seamless 3G functionality." The P735 integrates multimedia applications, network connectivity, video conferencing, and many other business functions, according to the company.
The P735 runs Windows Mobile 5.0 Pocket PC Phone Edition on a 520 MHz Marvel Xscale processor, and is equipped with 64 MB of SDRAM and 256 MB of flash memory. Wireless connectivity includes 2100 MHz UMTS, 900/1800/1900 MHz GSM, GPRS Class 10, Bluetooth 2.0, and 802.11b/g WiFi.
In addition to the usual suite of Mobile Office viewers, Asus touts some interesting proprietary applications for the P735, such as Remote Presenter, which controls Powerpoint presentations stored on a notebook via the Bluetooth connection. Users can even read slide notes on the device's screen during the presentation, Asus says.
The device's built-in 2M pixel auto-focus camera supports Asus's business card recognition software that saves business card details directly into the unit's contacts folder. A second VGA camera supports video calls and video conferencing, according to Asus.
While it appears that the P735 is shipping, Asus did not specify in what markets it is available, nor did it reveal any pricing.
