OQO Inc today announced that their critically acclaimedOQO 02 modelcomputer is now also available with EV-DO Wireless WAN capability and is compatible with the Verizon Wireless Broadband Access service. Thus users in the United States will be able to access their email, the Internet, and business and personal applications at speeds of 400-700 kilobits per second.
For the uninitiated the OQO Model 2 ultra-mobile PC measures 5.6" x 3.3" x 1.0" and weighs only around 1 pound. It includes features like; a backlit keyboard and TouchScrollers, 1.5GHz CPU, 1GB of DDR2 SDRAM, shock-mounted 60GB HDD with active drop detection and compatibility with standard PC-based applications.
"This collaboration with Verizon Wireless is another important step forward in realizing our vision of Anytime/Anywhere Productivity," said Bob Rosin, senior vice president of marketing & alliances, OQO. "Ultra mobile computing is about taking the same access to information and applications that you have at your desk, and putting it in a package you can carry with you all the time."
