Philips Fisio 822 is a dual band mobile phone, which comes in a neat candy bar style case. As this is a budget phone it provides a basic level of facilities, although there are a number of useful features onboard, such as GPRS and WAP, EMS messaging, voice control, an e-mail client, and animated menus.
The 822 has a display screen with a resolution of 112 x 112 pixels, and this supports a bright picture of up to 4096 colours. Although no camera is integrated into the phone you have the usual opportunity to download pictures from several sources, and to then use these images in your EMS messages.
For those who like to personalise their phones there is a choice of wallpapers, screensavers and ringtones, and a possibility to download more of these from WAP sites, or to transfer them from a PC or by e-mail. However, with a shared internal memory capacity of only 245 kB available, there is limited space to store a lot of downloaded material.
The 822 comes preloaded with one InFusio? game, and more InFusio games can be downloaded via WAP, although only one at a time may be saved. There is no Java? capability, and so downloadable applications are not supported.
With its built-in GPRS and WAP features this phone enables you to visit WAP sites, and to take advantage of the services offered via the mobile Internet. The 822 also provides you with the benefit of an e-mail service, via the standard POP3 and SMTP protocols.
