Panasonic G50 is a tri-band candy bar styled mobile phone, which is not only suitable for global roaming but is also one of the smallest and lightest models around, and so carrying it about will not weigh you down. Useful features of this model include GPRS and WAP technology, speakerphone for hands-free conversations, EMS messaging, and several polyphonic ringtones.

The display in the G50 is a LCD offering a resolution of 128 x 96 pixels, and it can also reproduce up to 4,096 different colours, which gives clear viewing of the menus, pictures and games that you can use on this model. As this phone is capable of sending and receiving EMS messages, it is possible to use it to communicate messages containing a combination of simple images, sounds and text. For entertainment on the move, the phone also includes 2 embedded games called ?Fillip? and ?Classic Rally?.

You can still enhance this phone by the usual methods of personalisation, by downloading new wallpapers, screensavers and logos, and it is also possible to download more ringtones when you feel like a change. Although you might be perfectly satisfied with the 40-tone polyphonic ringtones supplied, this phone has the added advantage of an integrated melody composer, which lets you compose your own ringtone melodies for a unique sound.

With its integrated GPRS data handling technology, the G50 provides you with a fast data rate for accessing the network services, and this has the double advantage of giving you an ?always on? connection, where you pay for the data you actually use rather than the time you are connected to the network. Also, with the phone?s WAP 2.0 browser, you have the means to access the mobile Internet and to take advantage of the information and services available over-the-air. WAP sites can give mobile phone users good services for news updates, sports results, music and entertainment, weather and traffic information, as well as the latest news from the business world and stock markets.

As if this little phone did not have enough to offer, the G50 also has a good-sized internal phonebook with the capacity to hold the details of 255 contacts. Other standard phone functions include a clock, alarm, calculator, currency converter, and scheduler.
