Nokia 7210 is a tri-band candy bar styled mobile phone with global roaming capability. The phone incorporates a number of important features, including GPRS and HSCSD data transmission technology, a WAP browser, MMS multimedia messaging, integrated FM stereo radio, speakerphone for hands-free conversations, Java? enabled, and a good choice of polyphonic ringtones. Although there is no integrated camera on this phone, a plug-in camera is available as an optional accessory.
The 7210 has a passive matrix colour LCD screen with a resolution of 128 x 128 pixels, and this display can reproduce up to 4,096 different colours. The display has the high definition required to make use of the phone?s multimedia messaging capability, so allowing you to exchange MMS messages with other phones. For example, you can receive messages containing a text, a polyphonic tone, and an image, which can be saved as a screensaver and ringing tone; or you can send and forward messages containing images and text to other compatible phones.
Being Java? enabled means that the Nokia 7210 can run Java applications and games, and more of these programs can be downloaded when you need them, or if you simply wish to change the variety of options available to you. As with most of the Nokia range, this phone also offers the possibility to personalise its appearance by downloading new wallpapers, animated screensavers and ringtones. For those who want a bigger styling makeover, this model?s look can be further adapted by choosing from the range of changeable covers available.
The GPRS and HSCSD technology incorporated into the Nokia 7210 provides for faster data speeds and an ?always on? connection, where you only pay for the amount of data you actually use. When combined with WAP, this technology offers the user fast and easy access to the mobile Internet, and the use of many services and information sources currently available from the WAP sites.
The integrated FM radio provides music on the move, and access to the regular content of the broadcast stations available in your area. The headset lead then acts as an aerial when you are using the radio, however, you can switch the sound through to the internal loudspeaker so that others may hear the radio channel. This speakerphone is also used when making hands-free calls, and when you want to share a conversation with others in the vicinity.
Two systems of data connectivity are provided for linking up with compatible computers, PDAs and other devices. The user has the options of a wireless infrared link for ?line-of-sight? use, and a wired connection via a standard data cable. The synchronisation of personal data and files is then possible, such as to update your schedule and phonebook details. You can also use this connectivity to transfer images and sounds between the devices.
