You knew it was coming....LG Electronics, who was first to debut a large touchscreen display phone back in September 2006, is now accusing Apple of copying them. The Apple iPhone, which is strikingly similar in concept to the LG Prada phone, wasn't unveiled until January 2007 at the MacWorld expo.
At the 3GSM World Congress this week, Woo-Young Kwak, head of LG Mobile Research and Developement was overheard saying, "We consider that Apple copycat the Prada phone after the design was unveiled when it was presented in the iF Design Award and won the prize in September 2006. We take that to mean 'Apple stole our idea." Those are some fighting words!!
Woo-Young Kwak made the official announcement at a press conference while in the presence of Scott Ahn, the CEO of LG's mobile phone division.
